A totally selfless act of dedication and love or simple stupidity?

Note:  Not photography-related

My heart goes out, but at the same time I can’t help but feel that such energy and dedication could have been more aptly used.

Yet, despite myself, I can’t help but feel enthralled by the image of standing next to your loved one at the edge of a cliff, anticipating the crunching of bone and mangling of bloody limbs, the scraping of tissue and unthinkable pain, all for something so strong that would move you to take that step regardless.

It’s even kind of romantic.

This should be a Murakami novel.
